Fireside Inn on Moonstone Beach

Had a great time at this inn! Everyone I interacted with was very friendly, and helpful. Had a little hiccup with the room assignment, so I asked to change rooms - the front desk was apologetic and assigned me a different (much nicer!) roo right away. All the front desk and other staff were cheerful, helpful and friendly. Location was great, room was nice, would definitely stay again. Thank you to all the staff on property!

I cannot give this establishment high enough praise. I first came to this Inn back in 1990 with my parents. They loved and frequented this hotel. As a now grown adult...I see why. It's a beautiful hotel, clean with a very warm, homey feel. It's been upgraded through the 30 plus years I've known it and such a great transformation. Check in was easy as well as check out. EXTREMELY helpful, friendly staff. Now about the room itself. The beds, super comfy. Rooms are super clean. If you can, get the room with a patio and ocean view, even partial. Great way to sit n have a morning coffee. The views, the Inn, the area....exquisite. if you ever need a place to go to unplug, unwind and just breathe and be in the moment of the beauty around you...come to Cambria and stay at Fireside Inn. I already booked my return in a few weeks for my 51st bday lol it's that great.

It was BEAUTIFUL!! The beach access was incredible and the fireplace in the room was so nice. We loved this well appointed little inn.

We reserved four rooms together for a family reunion. The staff at the front desk was very helpful in helping us to plan the best location to be together. When we arrived we found the rooms beautiful, very clean and prepared for everyone. All were pleased with the very comfortable and inviting atmosphere here. The hotel amenities add a variety of places to use, with a pool, a lounge offered for gathering and the proximity to the ocean couldn’t be better! Thank you to the great staff here, everyone makes it a very pleasant stay!

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. From the moment I walked in, the super friendly staff, the upgraded design and stylish wallpaper made a great first impression. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I also appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the property, like the heated pool, which was perfect for relaxing after a day out. The location couldn’t be better—right across the street from the beach and just a short walk to an amazing restaurant. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

The rooms are new, clean and spacious. The bathroom has lots of counter space. Our room had a nice gas fireplace. And it's within easy walking distance of restaurants and Right across the road from the beach.

I stayed at Fireside Inn in Cambria this past weekend and had a truly wonderful experience. From the beginning, the hotel was excellent at communicating and made everything easy and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. My room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and had a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable, and the fireplace in the room added a warm, relaxing touch — perfect for a coastal escape. One of my favorite parts was the outdoor patio, which had two chairs facing the ocean. Sitting out there and taking in the view was such a peaceful highlight of my stay. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

Our stay had both highlights and disappointments. The property itself is beautiful — the room style, decor and location couldn’t have been better — but several key issues left the overall experience still feeling underwhelming for the price. 1. No Air Conditioning This really needs to be clearly stated when booking. Some guests, myself included, are more heat-sensitive, and during warm days the ability to cool off in your room is essential for comfort. The lack of AC made relaxing after a long day nearly impossible. 2. Nickel-and-Dimed on Basics It’s honestly absurd to charge $5 for a tiny bottle of Fiji water in the room — especially when there are no vending machines or other options anywhere on the property. For a hotel at this price point, that feels downright stingy and tone-deaf. Free bottled water, coffee, or even a few snacks cost the hotel almost nothing but make guests feel valued. Instead, it felt like we were being nickel-and-dimed for the essentials. When you’re paying premium rates, you shouldn’t feel hesitant to hydrate. 3. Missing Hospitality Touches There were no complimentary extras you’d expect from a high-end property — no welcome drink, evening wine and cheese, or even a basic coffee station. Little gestures like that create a sense of care and hospitality, and their absence made the stay feel transactional rather than warm. 4. Service and Atmosphere The front-desk staff wasn’t rude, but they weren’t warm or inviting either — polite smiles, but no genuine sense of welcome. In contrast, Michael, the staff member working by the pool, was outstanding. When I mentioned the heat and lack of fans, he immediately found one and went out of his way to help. His friendly, can-do attitude stood out and honestly salvaged part of our impression. 5. Pool and Facility Feedback The pool itself looked nice but was too cool to comfortably enjoy. Should turn the heat up. 6. Overall Impression Coming directly from a boutique luxury hotel in Tiburon at the same price point — one that offered complimentary water, evening wine, coffee, cookies, and a genuinely warm atmosphere — made the contrast all the more disappointing. With just a few thoughtful touches and less nickel-and-diming, this hotel could easily match the experience its price suggests.
